A work in progress

For those that don’t know, me and my husband purchased our first home in June and since then it’s been a whirlwind of activity for us! We started by sanding the wood floors in the living room and then moved onto painting both that room and the dining room. Then it was time to sand the floor in the lower rear porch so that it was safe for our daughter to play out there. The floor was painted but it was in really rough shape and we weren’t comfortable having her play out there with the paint peeling. So then we started the process of painting the outside of the house. I painted the exterior for both the lower and upper rear deck and Dan started working on the outside. The ENTIRE house has to be completely scraped because the paint is peeling so bad that it’d be really stupid to just cover it up. So this is the one side that is just about done besides a little touching up around the wires and getting new lattice work below the front porch….

And here is the opposite side to show where Dan is now with everything. He’s using a heat gun on this side which is a lot less messy! He’ll still need to do a little bit of sanding, but at least he won’t be covered in as much sawdust as he was for the other side!

So when I’m not editing my sessions, this is what I’m focusing on! Still TONS to do on the inside, but that will come with time! My next project is trying to get everything set for a yard sale that we plan on having Columbus Day Weekend……time to empty out the other side of the garage! Anyways, here’s a pretty photo of some flowers in our backyard along the river……..I just love where we live!!!

Susie - What a beautiful house and I just love the new color. He is doing an amazing job and I can imagine what a chore it is peeling off all the old paint, sanding and then repainting!! He is definitely a keeper!!

IkeaGoddess - The new paint looks awesome, your house is beautiful. I wish you many happy moments there.
