A lovely summer- Vermont Wedding Photographer

I can already tell…..it’s going to be a lovely summer!  Engagements sessions are such a rarity for me because so many of my couples are not from this area so when I have the opportunity to capture them, it makes me one happy girl.  This past week, I had the even rarer opportunity to capture two e-sessions- one of which was for Megan and Brendan who are here during their summer break from teaching up in Alaska!  They’ll be getting married sometime next summer and I’m so happy that they allowed me to capture their love up at Merck Forest in Rupert, VT!  I’ll have more details and more photos to share from their lovely session, but in the meantime, here’s a little sneak peek….

Wedding Season- Vermont Wedding Photographer

Wedding season is officially here and I’m so excited about every single one of my weddings this year, including the few that I’ve already captured so far.  With only a few weekends off until the middle of October, I’ll often be found behind my computer screen but I’m going to try and set a different editing schedule for myself this year in anticipation of a very active 6 year old being by my side!  I think that it’s important that I’m able to balance both my professional and personal life and remember that my daughter deserves to have a fun summer like all of the other kids.  We’re lucky that I get to stay at home with her, but I also have a hard time trying to remember that even though I work from home and my computer is never really turned off, I’m still a mom and that at the end of the day is my most important job!  So I’m calling this summer the summer of fun!  The mornings will be spent editing and the afternoons will be spent at the beach where we’ll make good use of our pass to Vermont State Parks.  Then it will be time for dinner, some family time and then working for a couple more hours before I hit the sack.  I finally found a schedule that works for me and I plan on taking full advantage of it this summer!

In the meantime, Lillian is in her last week of summer camp at her school which we’ve both been enjoying and next week summer will officially begin for the Bombria family!  I have blogging on my schedule this year so that I keep on top of things more often, but in the meantime, here’s a quick edit of my latest wedding.  It was raining on Kerri and Shane’s day at Stratton Mountain, and on the ride up I had an idea.  If my couples have a rainy day, they deserve to take their portraits in a relaxed outdoor setting where they can take their time and not worry about getting soaked.  So I now offer the option of an absolutely free session with their wedding attire on at a later date.  We still take some photos of course on the big day, but I think that this can help take any worry away which makes for a more relaxed day!

So be on the lookout for more photos from Kerri and Shane’s big day, more Engagements Sessions, Senior Sessions and of course a lot more weddings!
