It was a beautiful summer day. When Kari had contacted me last summer, I was originally booked for her day so I was a little bummed that I a) wouldn’t be able to attend her wedding and b) wouldn’t be able to capture her day. But in the end, my other wedding was moved and six or so months later Kari contacted me realizing that I was now available. When I arrived at the Four Chimney’s Inn, the girls were checking out all of the details outside……pure perfection….

The Four Chimney’s is a beautiful location to not only spend the night, eat a fabulous meal, but also have a stunning reception.

The flowers were clean, crisp and beautiful.

So cute right?! When we moved back inside to the Inn to start capturing the preparations, I was waiting for this moment in time…..this moment where she slipped her beautiful dress on surrounded by her sister and friends.

Conveniently located right down the street which enabled me to save a little gas and put my comfy shoes to work, is the beautiful Old First Church in Bennington, Vermont. This church is STUNNING and I love doing weddings here. History is in every corner and love was in every box pew.

After their beautiful ceremony, we headed outside to take a few quick photos beside the church and I’ll admit that I was crying behind the camera when I was shooting this. What I’ve forgotten to mention is that Kari is a very close family friend……my husband Dan grew up with Kari and her sister and Jack (Kari’s dad) was like a second father to him. I already cry a lot at weddings, but moments like these, where I know how important the photos are, where I know what they mean, makes me love what I do even more. It’s an honor.

So after I dried up my tears I got my walking shoes back on and we headed back to the Four Chimney’s. Right as we were about to start taking the formal photos I captured this…..I love the unplanned!

For some strange reason, I love capturing this “pose”……it makes me laugh…..plus it’s always fun having the bride be sassy and having the guys be all serious!! And then some photos don’t need words……they speak for themselves…..

Thank you Kari and Bart for letting me capture your beautiful day and trusting me to capture memories that you’ll be able to share for generations to come!
In other news, business is starting to wind down and once I’m completely caught up in a few weeks I’ll begin the process of updating my website, blog, etc. Everything will be freshened up with my latest work, which my website currently doesn’t showcase and the blog itself will be receiving a complete makeover. I’ll also be announcing my Class of 2012 Senior Model Search and showcasing some new products. It’s going to be an exciting winter with lots of time to think, relax, sew, knit, design and many other things that I have hidden under my sleeve!!
