Jennifer & Phil- Vermont Wedding Photographer

It seriously seems like it was just yesterday that I met Jennifer up in Rutland (goes to show how quickly winter passes by!)  I was so happy when she chose me to capture her day because I knew that it would be a fun AND beautiful wedding to capture……and what a beautiful day it was!  The initial weather reports didn’t look so good, but I’ve learned to not completely rely on the weather reports as much anymore because they can be completely unpredictable!  We arrived at the beautiful Hawk Inn and Mountain Resort in Plymouth, VT.  It was beautiful…..so much so that I’m thinking of taking my family for a night during one of my weekend breaks!  Jennifer and her girls were getting ready in the library with that oh so lovely natural light that makes me and my camera sing with joy…..and so we began capturing memories…..blog1

Her flowers were stunning and the library afforded us several locations to take some photos!

I truly love black and white photos…..they bring all of the details forward like Jennifer’s sister-in-law smiling in the background….LOVE IT!!

Ariel & Mike- Vermont Wedding Photographer

It was an absolutely beautiful morning the day of Ariel & Mike’s wedding!  I had the opportunity to meet Ariel and her mom several months prior to the big day and now the day had finally arrived.  When I arrived at the salon, Ariel was writing to Mike and I’m glad I was able to capture it.  I think that the time leading up to the big moment is just as important as all of the other moments in a couples day!blog1

I love capturing moments like these….it’s those times when you don’t think I’m paying attention, but I really am……you can tell just how happy Ariel’s mom is can’t you and how excited they both are?!

Mike’s Dad was his best man and did a great job putting on his boutenniere and didn’t poke him a single time with the needle which is always a good thing!  Upstairs the ladies were getting ready for the big moment.

It was finally time to start.  He waited and then she appeared.  And then they had an unexpected guess…..well unexpected to Mike!  Mike’s brother, who is in Korea serving our country was able to contact them via Skype and be a part of their day……how cool is that?!  Certainly brought some tears to my eyes that’s for sure!

Right after the ceremony, we knew that the best opportunity to grab a group photo would be at the church, so off we all went to playground where I leaned outside a window to grab a quick photo…..

At the reception it was time for the first dance and of course a little Boom Bom Pow action between Ariel and the groomsmen!!

Thank you so much Ariel and Mike for letting me be a part of your day!  Coming up later this week will be some more peeks from another wedding and another senior rep session!!

Happy Birthday Lillian!

Four years ago today, I was in the hospital beyond scared.  Two days prior, I was told that at 32 weeks pregnant, I would be having my baby within the next couple of days.  She arrived and she was perfect.  It’s hard to believe that it’s been four years and that we were so lucky and that we continue to be lucky.  Lillian is a beautiful, silly, stubborn, adventurous, friendly creative little girl.  She is the perfect mixture of both me and Dan.  She wants what she wants, when she wants it.  She gives the biggest hugs.  She kisses me all over my face, the same way my mom did to me when I was young.  She loves getting dressed up, and lately she loves wearing multiple layers of clothing even though it’s 80 degrees out!  She is my life.

This fall, Lillian will enter Pre-K at what she calls the big kid school.  She’ll have the same schedule as the rest of the elementary kids, with a little more fun thrown in.  While I’m nervous about the huge transition she’ll have ahead of her, I know that she’ll thrive.  She’s such a social child!  Since it rained all day Sunday, I wasn’t able to head outside to take some new photos of my four year old, but hopefully by the end of the week I’ll have something new to share!  In the meantime, I’ll remember when she fit in the palm of Dan’s hand…..
