I hope that you and your family had a wonderful holiday! I’m still enjoying some quiet time out of the office until after the new year, but thought I’d take a couple of minutes for a quick post. This year was a different year in the Bombria household. Other than a Barbie bike and a Perry the Platypus doll and guitar, we stayed away from standard toys. I was able to find a really cool looking Schwinn bike, but at $260 it was a little too much to spend for something that she’ll outgrow rather quickly so a standard bike was the way to go. This year it was about her imagination and buying her gifts from vendors that I can feel proud supporting. So this year, other than the previous toys that I mentioned which were purchased from Amazon, I bought from Stubby Pencil Studio, Nova Natural Toys, and Northshire Bookstore which is a great local bookstore in Manchester. I still have some more supplies to get her since I’m having a custom painting done by the talented Erika Jessop and I would like for Lillian to create her own painting using the same paint colors that Erika will be using. I guess in a way this painting is more for me, but hopefully when she’s older she’ll appreciate the thought! I’ll be sure to share a photo of it once it arrives! This is also the last year that we’ll be wrapping gifts. I curse every year and this year I decided that I have had enough so I’ve already purchased some holiday fabric from Pink Chalk Fabrics which was on sale for our Santa sacks which I’ll be making this winter. Lots and lots of stuff planned during my slow time craft wise! Anyways, what’s a blog post without a few photos?! Here’s a few from our holiday weekend…..

After learning about owls in the fall at school complete with a visit with real owls, Lillian acquired a deep love for them so when I saw this cool puppet I knew I had to get it for her!

Since I didn’t want to go out and buy wrapping paper this year I opted to go with kraft paper which I use to wrap my clients packages so I already had it on hand. I’m actually thinking of making sewn sacks for my clients next year, but that may require a little bit too much work once I get into my busy season so that may be put in the idea bag!

Lillian really isn’t into watching too much television, with the one exception being Phineas and Ferb. It’s actually a very cute show that all three of us enjoy watching and we all laugh at the same time which to me means it’s a good show…….even Dan will get upset when it isn’t on TV! After opening presents at home, we headed over to Nana’s house where a story was read….

And then after a yummy breakfast it was off to Syracuse. I really didn’t take many photos (like 6 or 7!) while we were there, but I was sure to take a quick pic of the girls since they were being so quiet in the bedroom doing Lillian’s favorite activity….

I hope that you had a wonderful holiday and that 2011 is a wonderful year for you and those you love!
