My heart is in her hands….

blog1

This little girl truly is my life and the reason I do what I do.  Today I took Lillian’s Christmas photos and even though I wanted to pull out every strand of hair on my head while she was running around my studio lighting, I know that every click of my camera is for her.  As you may or may not know, my main job in life is being a mommy.  As a stay at home mom, she is my priority.  We laugh a lot, tickle each other, make messes that mommy may or may not clean up (hey at least I admitted it!) and give lots and lots of eskimo kisses (which we call nosey, nosey.)  Because of her, I schedule my sessions around her schedule, because her schedule is my schedule!  Before daylight savings time, I could do sessions in the evening after my husband came home from work.  But now with the time change and the sleepy winter, I can only schedule sessions during the weekends.  But I guess after the busy year I’ve had, a nice break during the week is well deserved!  2010 is already looking like a busy one with weddings already booked and numbers swirling around in my head about how many more I should do.  Balance is the key for me.  I need to balance my professional life and my family life.  Family comes first, always has and always will.  Balance is also key to my business as I don’t want to be one of those photographers to book every wedding that may fall in my lap.  I need to keep my photography fresh, I need to learn new things and I need to rememeber that at the end of the day, the balance that I keep between these two forces in my life is what will keep me sain.  Balance, Balance, Balance.  Anyways, as I design our Christmas cards for this year, I hope that you find balance in your life…..whether it’s enjoying your family, figuring out all of the details for your upcoming wedding, etc, etc, etc…..enjoy life!!!

Angie and Aaron- Southern Vermont Wedding Photographer

The weather this time of the year can be tricky.  It’s either on your side completely or it says the heck with you.  As an on-location photographer, I’m always open to shooting outdoors any time of the year as long as my clients are up for it…..I really am extremely flexible….well my body isn’t very flexible but my personality certainly is!!!!  Once Angie and Aaron arrived at my house, we didn’t have very far to travel……we headed directly across the street from me to a property that my town purchased that has a great yellow barn and field beside it…..I love locations like this!

Baby T- Southern Vermont/Eastern NY Newborn Photographer

The moment I walked in the door and I saw baby T, my mouth began to form a weepy sad face, but the cute kinda weepy sad face coming from a mother whose ready for another one…..you know the kind!!  It was a windy Halloween, but the sun was shining and I was ready to capture some beautiful photos of Mr. T.  Oh how he loved my portable heater…..heck I love my portable heater too….puts me to sleep everytime it’s on!  I love being able to photograph families that I’ve already had the privledge to capture before…..such an awesome thing to watch children grow and see how much they’ve changed in a short time.  It also goes to show how much my shooting style has changed since I first started photography professionally.  Anyways, how about a few photos…..don’t you just want to hug him???!!!!
