A little contest!- Vermont Wedding Photographer

So I’m in the midst of designing my all new wedding guide for 2013 and I thought that it would be fun to feature other photographer’s work in the guide for preview purposes at Two Pear Designs in addition to my own……variety is always nice right?!  So the new guide will currently be sized at 8.5″x11″ but since everything is left in .PSD form, it can easily be downsized to suit your needs.  Whether you’ll be using an online viewer such as ISSUU.com or printing, this guide will offer you a lot of variety and at the same time allow for complete customization to fit your branding.  More than three quarters of my clients are from out of state so most of the time and in person meeting is out of the question.  Skype has quickly become an important part of my business!  In the past, I’ve simply emailed my price list when requested if the date was available.  There’s so much more information that potential clients should consider though in addition to the cost.  I felt like I needed to take the time to put together a guide so that potential clients could get an understanding of  my style as well as learn a little bit more about me.  Here’s a preview of what has been designed so far (still some blank spots where more photos and text need to be added)…….

The design will include all of the text that I’ll be using for my own guide which you can easily alter.  So here’s the contest part of it.  If you’d like to have some of your wedding work featured in my guide and receive the guide ABSOLUTELY FREE once it’s all finished, simply do the following….

1)  Like Carrie Ann Photography & Design Facebook Page- http://www.facebook.com/CarrieAnnPhotography

2) Like Two Pear Designs Facebook Page- http://www.facebook.com/TwoPear

3)  Send a small sampling of wedding photos (up to 4 photos) you think would be a great fit for my guide.  The photos should be no larger than 900pixels x 599 pixels (I’ll ask for full size photos later on if your photos are selected.)  I tend to lean towards natural vibrant colors and not overly processed photos using heavy actions, etc…..though a good black and white will always melt my heart!  Send your photos to me at carrie@carrieannphotography.com

Two winners will be selected and will receive the guide ABSOLUTELY FREE just for sharing your images for preview purposes (credit will be given of course!)  Entries will be accepted until 10pm (EST) February 29th EXTENDED TO MARCH 1ST.  If you don’t shoot weddings, but know someone who does, feel free to refer them to the contest and tell them to mention that you sent them my way and you may just receive a little something special yourself!!

EDITED TO ADD:

Just thought I would mention the current topics that are included in the guide…….

About Me, My Approach to Wedding Photography, Packages/A La Carte Options, Elopement Packages,  Digital File FAQ’s, Custom Albums, Why do a First Look?, Vendor Love, Happy Planning with Contact Details.

Feel free to list any additional ideas you’d like to see in the comments below though!!

An updated look- Vermont Wedding Photographer

You may notice that things have changed a bit here and there.  I think that as a creative person, I’m never completely satisfied and I have the constant need for change.  It’s one of the perks of being a photographer/graphic artist because I have the opportunity to try new things out often, with the added perk of getting to experience those new things with new people!  I recently decided that I was over my logo.  It had served it’s purpose, but it was time to move on.  I wanted something that was more reflective of where I am with my photography now and not tie myself down to a particular piece of art, drawing, etc.  Life changes, moods change and I was ready for a change.  I’ve found myself happily taking on more weddings (not too many though!) and being okay with that.  I’ve always tried to limit the amount of weddings that I’ve done so that I could put an equal amount of time into my portrait work.  Both play an important role in my business and each has their own place.  I have a passion for all forms of photography.  A few months back I thought that maybe I should just focus on one thing.  I felt like a kid in the candy aisle looking at everything and thinking “you need to pick one thing Carrie and you need to savor it…..you need to love it with all that you are.”  But then I got to thinking, why can’t I love each of the same with the same amount of passion?

I love newborns.  I love the way parents look into their eyes and love watching them sleep.  I love the excitement of seeing how the session will transform since it’s so heavily dependent on how calm/relaxed/sleepy they are!!

I love families.  I love watching how each family interacts with each other.  I love telling parents to relax……what will be, will be……just enjoy your family and I’ll handle the rest.

I love capturing seniors.  I love that feeling of not knowing what’s to come…….whether it’s nervous excitement or pure terror about what lies ahead of them after they walk across that stage.  So many possibilities.

I love capturing weddings.  I LOVE the love.  I love the excitement, the joy, the tears, the hugs, the dancing and the gift I’m able to give after the tables are cleared and the honeymoon is over.

I LOVE that I get to tell all of these stories, and that each one is important in their own way.  For this reason, and this reason alone, I will continue to capture everything that I love!  So with that in mind, I look forward to capturing MANY beautiful memories from all types of beautiful souls in 2012!!!

Mini Contest- Arlington, Vermont Photographer

So I’ve been busy designing some new stuff that I’ll be offering my clients that I’ve been putting up for sale at Pink Ink and one of those new items that I’ll be putting up for sale tomorrow morning will be this…..

cb-pis-babyalbumpreview

It’s a 10 page 10×10 baby album template (you don’t receive the actual book- just the templates to create it) that clients can order after their session (more previews will be shown once the item is up for sale!)  I’ve been working on this for awhile, going back and forth between designing new things and I finally finished it up the other day!  You can insert photos into the clipping masks from the session and then later on, clients can add their own photos using double sided tape to adhere them to the pages!  And since everything is left as a .PSD file, the album can be completely customized!  All of the wording is included too so you don’t need to worry about coming up with questions on your own!  So before I put this item up for sale (which will be valued at $75), I thought that I would hold a mini contest!

CONTEST HAS ENDED- thanks to all that entered!

It’s a little bit dreary here in Southern Vermont, so it’s a chill out kind of day with a little laundry and DIY stuff thrown in for some fun!  Hope everyone is having a great weekend and if you haven’t done so already, be sure to stop by the American Red Cross page to make a donation towards the Japan Earthquake and Pacific Tsunami Fund.
